Huayee Equipment for Elmira, Corning & Ithaca

Huayee LHY360 mini skid steer at TractorSource — delivery to Elmira, Corning & Ithaca, NY

The central Southern Tier is one of the easiest parts of New York for us to serve. TractorSource is an authorized Huayee dealer in Altoona, Pennsylvania, and Corning and Elmira sit at the top of a mostly four-lane drive straight north from our yard. We sell and deliver Huayee mini excavators, mini skid steers, a compact wheel loader, and attachments to Chemung, Steuben, Schuyler, and Tompkins counties, including Elmira, Horseheads, Corning, Painted Post, Bath, Watkins Glen, and Ithaca. We don't have a New York storefront. Our only location is 135 Ruths Lane in Altoona, and delivery is quoted to your ZIP.

How close is the yard?

  • Corning: about 170 miles, roughly 3–3¼ hours by car

  • Elmira: about 175 miles, roughly 3–3½ hours by car

  • Ithaca: about 210–215 miles, roughly 3¾–4¼ hours by car

The drive runs north on I-99 to I-80, then US-220 to Williamsport and US-15/I-99 up to the Corning area. Elmira is just off that corridor, and Ithaca is about 45 miles beyond Corning via I-86 and NY-13. (OSRM and Valhalla road routing on OpenStreetMap data, Oct 2026. Car times without traffic; trailers take longer.) From Corning or Elmira, a pickup day trip to Altoona is very doable: see the machine, load it, and be home that evening. From Ithaca, delivery usually makes more sense.

What works on Southern Tier ground

Between the river valleys around Elmira and Corning and the steep hills and gorges around Ithaca and Watkins Glen, a lot of the work here is drainage, slope management, and getting a machine into places a full-size excavator can't go.

  • Hillside drainage, French drains, and footers: the SHY15 and SHY20 mini excavators. Add a hydraulic tilt grading bucket for shaping swales and slopes without repositioning the machine every few feet.

  • Village lots and tight backyards in Elmira, Corning, and Ithaca: the HY14C, SHY10, and SHY12, which are compact, easy to trailer, and simple for first-time owners.

  • Farm and contractor digging: the SHY27 or HY35C. The HY35C is a 3.5-ton class machine with an enclosed cab with heat and AC, a hydraulic thumb, and a quick coupler, and it's the most comfortable choice for long or cold days.

  • Moving material on small properties and farms: the LHY360/LHY480/LHY680 mini skid steers, or the WHY1500 articulating wheel loader for gravel, feed, and snow.

  • Rock and old concrete: the hydraulic breaker hammer attachment. The ripper helps in shale and compacted ground.

Elmira, Corning & Ithaca FAQ

Is TractorSource located in Elmira, Corning, or Ithaca?

No. TractorSource doesn't have a New York storefront. Our only location is our yard at 135 Ruths Lane, Altoona, PA. We deliver to Elmira, Corning, Ithaca, and the surrounding counties, quoted by ZIP.

How far is Corning from your Altoona yard?

Corning is about 170 miles away, roughly 3 to 3¼ hours by car, mostly on I-99, US-220, and US-15. Elmira is about 175 miles (roughly 3 to 3½ hours), and Ithaca is about 210–215 miles (roughly 3¾ to 4¼ hours).

Can I pick up a machine in Altoona and drive it home the same day?

Many buyers from Corning and Elmira do, as long as their truck and trailer are rated for the machine. Pickup is by appointment; call or text (814) 506-6174 to schedule.

Which Huayee machine is best for drainage on a hillside?

The SHY15 or SHY20 with a hydraulic tilt grading bucket is a common setup for swales and French drains. For bigger jobs or steep, rocky ground, ask us about the SHY27 or HY35C, and tell us the slope so we can size it safely.

Do you deliver to Watkins Glen, Bath, and Horseheads?

Yes. We deliver throughout Chemung, Steuben, Schuyler, and Tompkins counties and the rest of New York State. Send your ZIP for a quote.
