Huayee Equipment for Buffalo & Western NY
Looking for Huayee mini excavators or skid steers in Buffalo? TractorSource is an authorized Huayee dealer serving Buffalo and all of Western New York from our yard in Altoona, Pennsylvania. We deliver to Erie and Niagara counties, Batavia and Genesee County, and the rest of the I-90 corridor, with a delivery price quoted to your ZIP. We don't have a Buffalo storefront and won't pretend to. Our only location is 135 Ruths Lane in Altoona, and that's where every quote, warranty question, and parts order is handled.
How far is Buffalo from our yard?
The drive from our Altoona yard to downtown Buffalo is about 205–215 miles, roughly 4¼–4½ hours by car, via I-80 to DuBois, then north on PA-255 and US-219 through Bradford, Salamanca, and Springville. Niagara Falls adds about another half hour. (Calculated with the OSRM and Valhalla road routers on OpenStreetMap data, Oct 2026. Car times without traffic; a truck pulling an equipment trailer takes longer.) That's a long day trip with a trailer, so most Buffalo-area buyers have us quote delivery. If you'd rather see the machine first, you can pick it up in Altoona by appointment.

Go over setup before it ships. We talk through attachments and setup questions by phone, so you know what's arriving and what it's set up to do.

Which Huayee machines fit Buffalo-area work
Western NY work is a mix of homeowner, farm, and small-contractor jobs, and the right machine depends on the job more than the zip code:
Drainage, footers, and utility trenches: the SHY15 and SHY20 mini excavators are the common middle ground, big enough for real digging and still sized for many pickup-and-trailer setups (check your truck and trailer ratings). Add a trenching bucket and a hydraulic tilt grading bucket for swales and finish grading.
Tight suburban lots in Amherst, Tonawanda, or Cheektowaga: the HY14C, SHY10, and SHY12 fit through gates and between houses.
Bigger digging, or working in the cold: the HY35C is a 3.5-ton class machine with an enclosed cab with heat and AC, a hydraulic thumb, and a quick coupler, the one to look at if you plan to dig late into fall or in winter. It's heavier (about 7,800–8,300 lb), so it needs a properly rated trailer.
Snow, gravel, and material handling: the WHY1500 articulating wheel loader (Kubota diesel, 4x4) and the LHY480/LHY680 mini skid steers handle loading, grading, and snow work around farms, shops, and parking areas. Lake-effect snow is a fact of life here, so ask us about bucket and attachment options for winter use.
Brush and lot clearing: pair a mini skid steer with the Huayee forestry mulcher attachment.
Not sure which size fits? Tell us what you're digging, how you'll haul it, and how tight the access is. Justin will give you a straight recommendation, even if it's the smaller, cheaper machine.
